New Channel Placement Will Strengthen Network Position for Rural Listeners
After two years of steady growth, RURAL RADIO announced today that it is moving to a new channel on the SiriusXM lineup, shifting from channel 80 to a new station number on channel 147. With a large audience of farmers and ranchers and reaching more than 55 million listeners weekly, the network’s success prompted the move. Beginning August 13th, RURAL RADIO will be located near SiriusXM favorites such as FOX News, Bloomberg, POTUS Politics, CNN, and Road Dog Trucking. RURAL RADIO will take over its new permanent home address on SiriusXM channel 147.
“Based on RURAL RADIO’s popularity with our listeners, SiriusXM pushed our channel position to a higher tier. The new location is more aligned with our listeners,” said Paul Aaron, President & GM for RURAL RADIO. “Hands down it’s a better place for new listeners to discover our programming.”
In 2014, RURAL RADIO solidified a major international broadcast partnership with the World Professional Chuckwagon Association (WPCA) Pro Tour. In addition, the programming lineup has expanded to include coverage of PBR and PRCA events, and shows like MARKET DAY REPORT, RURAL EVENING NEWS, RURAL AMERICA LIVE, Western Sports Roundup, Outside the Barrel with Flint Rasmussen, Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World, Ag PhD Radio, FFA Today, The Horse Show, Angus Talk, and Red Steagall’s Cowboy Corner.
“It’s been a great two years since our launch in 2013. We’re so proud to have partnered with SiriusXM for RURAL RADIO,” stated Patrick Gottsch, Founder & President of Rural Media Group. “From day one Rural Media Group’s goal has been to reconnect city with country. Rural is a way of life and RURAL RADIO means listeners can tune-in anywhere at any time to the only national network dedicated to rural America.”
