Farm Machinery Digest Radio Launches on Rural Radio 147!

  • December 29, 2020
  • by RURAL RADIO 147 on SiriusXM
  • · Uncategorized

From the host of Rural Radio 147’s newest program, “Farm Machinery Digest Radio”:

My name is Ray Bohacz, and I know that success on the farm is a three-legged stool: agronomy, business, and machinery. I have always believed that great judgment in the first two areas can quickly be negated by poor farm shop decisions regarding maintenance and repair of equipment. For your farm or ranch to be profitable, it needs to be recognized that it is not the revenue you generate but rather the income you keep. I want your yield bump and business savvy reinvested to bring more value to you the next harvest season and not consumed by your equipment.

For this reason, I have partnered with Rural Radio Channel 147 to create “Farm Machinery Digest Radio” as an adjunct to my successful “Idle Chatter” podcast listened to in 67 countries. The show is a means for me to transfer knowledge to you about all aspects of the equipment employed in modern production agriculture. It is a grease-under-your-fingernails and no-nonsense radio show dedicated to the education and the success of American agriculture.

Many of you may be familiar with my name since I am a technical writer in both the automotive and agriculture industries. I have been featured in more than forty-four different magazine titles, have over 3,500 published technical articles, authored three books, and delivered countless seminars to the automotive and agricultural communities. I was also the Engine Man for five years on RFD-TV and the fuel system expert on the Talk to DIY Automotive television show. I am a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers, American Society of Materials, International Motor Press Association, Farm Bureau, and the New Jersey No-Till Association.

Still, most importantly, I AM A FARMER! We have a fresh-market sweet corn operation on my family’s land in Warren County, New Jersey, where I live with my wife Charlotte, a kindergarten teacher. Some call me the “Hotrod Farmer” because, for many years, I also built drag race engines.

The opening of each episode of “Farm Machinery Digest Radio” features the sound of a diesel engine starting and progresses to a Top Fuel drag race engine making a pass down the track. Each week I will feature a practical discussion on a technical topic, a multiple-choice Toolbox Test question, and a listener’s letter and my answer to their question in the Special Delivery section at the end of the show.

Farm Machinery Digest Radio can be heard exclusively on Rural Radio 147 each Saturday at 11:00 am Eastern, with a replay Sunday at 6:00 pm Eastern, starting January 2nd.

Please join me there… where steel and soil meet

Ray Bohacz

“Kinder Outdoors would not be possible without its support from DSC, and together now more than ever in our struggling nation, we will tell the great story of hunting, fishing and the shooting sports, the great story of children needing to experience wild places and wildlife and the great story of North American conservation and its influence and impact around the world.” Billy Kinder, President/Host-Kinder Outdoors.

Along with RMG’s other brands, Rural Radio has the mission of reconnecting “city with country” and now is a crucial time for these three brands to connect to ensure that the important messages of conserving wildlife and wild places, protecting rights to hunt and fish and educating the next generations in the outdoor heritage reach even more ears and hearts. Kinder Outdoors is a great way to social distance and to enjoy a long day on the bow of the boat or in the blind (with earphones of course). “When we’re not in the great outdoors, we’re thinkin’ about it.”
